Landing gear struts

The rear main landing gear struts are also made of straight lengths of 6061-t6 tube with the ends of the tube ground down to make a 45º angle at each end.   The angle is important because it lets the strut sit close to the main frame tube and the wheel hub.  The landing gear struts are filled with 3/4" wood dowels that run the length of the tube but stop just short of the bolt holes.
